Mara Ina

Maraina— Refers to the sacred mountain territory and its people near Mount Murkele. Culturally, the phrase symbolizes the "sacred ancestral origin", the cradle of life or the birthplace of human life in Maluku cosmology.

Mara — Sacred territory, the center of order.

Ina — Mother or Female.

The ancient Maluku cosmology of Ceram, Nusa Ina, acknowledges that life is born from the womb of the Mother (Ina) and she is the center of order and protected and guided by the Father (Ama). Both forces are equal in sustaining the universe.
